The phrase "raised by wolves" takes on a literal meaning in Princess Mononoke. What family dynamic best fits your experiences and ideals?
I was raised by humans, but I'm not close to my family anymore; ideally, I would like a peaceful place to make one of my own.My family is reminiscent of a pack of wolves; we're fiercely loyal to each other and I'm skeptical of outsiders. My family is everything to me; I would die to protect them.I am not a very family oriented person, as I prefer to keep to myself. My family is tough; we were raised to stand up for ourselves, but we stand together.Family isn't necessarily something you're born into; I chose my family, and I'm not afraid to do whatever it takes to get them what they need, even if that means hurting others.
How do you feel about fighting?
As a pacifist at heart, I'm not a fan of using fists to solve my problems.I'm a fighter and if you're deserving, I'll pummel you eagerly.I will fight when necessary.I don't usually concern myself with such conflicts, however if provoked I can prove lethal.I'm a warror! I'm unfraid to get violent, but I'm easily blinded by rage and this often makes me reckless in fights.I will fight ruthlessly against anyone who stands in the way of my goals.
Could you love someone who greatly differs from yourself?
Yes; I'm quite open-minded when it comes to others. No way! Well, maybe... if they showed me they could respect my lifestyle and personality, I might be able to over time.Surprisingly, yes. If they were willing to learn and respect my customs, I could.Love is not something I concern myself with, however I approach all beings without judgement and bias.No and I'd probably hate them, in all honesty.I could, as long as they respect and support my choices and beliefs without question.
Are you afraid to die?
I definitely don't WANT to die, so yes somewhatNot at all, especially if it's the outcome of protecting those I care for.I feel I have lived a fulfilling life and when the time comes, I'll embrace it with ease.Death isn't something to fear, it's merely the outcome of life.Hardly, but I refuse to go down easily. Not exactly, I'm afraid of dying before I can make my dreams a reality.
You find yourself stranded in a forest. How do you feel?
Not really what I'm used to, but it's not so bad.Stranded? Sounds like heaven!I feel at home, I could spend lifetimes in nature.I'm neither lost, nor afraid. This is where I reside currently, no more, no less.I'd happily take a forest over a noisy town full of people any day.I'm resourceful and not easily intimidated, so I'll be back in the comfort of my city soon enough.
There's division between man and nature in Princess Mononoke. Where would you stand?
I would advocate for peace between both sides. The less bloodshed, the better.Nature MUST be protected, at all costs. Those who threaten to harm or destroy it should be punished.I will fight for and alongside nature, but ultimately, what will be will be.I will not intervene, nor take sides.I abhor mankind and support savage means to preserve what's left of an already ravaged natural world. The advancement of man, my people, is my priority. Nature offers vast and useful resources that must be utilized.
Pick a setting.
Do you trust easily?
I don't have difficulty trusting others. Not at all, there's not many people out there you should trust.Trust is earned, if you've rightfully earned it, then you may have it.I find that it doesn't matter, individuals will do as they please regardless.I find it easiest to trust those who share my same intentions and beliefs. Overall, I am often skeptical and dismissive of others.I am more prone to trust those who show loyalty and respect toward me and my endeavors.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Are you a likable person?
I think so, I've been told I'm fairly charming.Probably not, but I don't really care.I am well-respected by many, but I have my fair share of enemies.I'm liked by most.I don't need to be "likable," I need to be strong and assertive, that's what's essential to one's survival.I'm either adored or hated—there is no in between.
Do the ends always justify the means?
No. People only say that to justify horrible choices. No, not always. But in my case, usually.No. There's no greater good when everything used to get there is in ruins. That is not for me to determine. One hundred percent. Sometimes you have to do really difficult things to accomplish your goals.Yes. If your intentions are ultimately good, then I see no harm in doing morally questionable things to reach those ends.
Pick a song, any song, from the soundtrack.
Yakul is very loyal to Ashitaka. Are you a loyal person?
Yes, I never give up on the causes or people that are important to me.I'm not close to many, but I am fiercely loyal to those I love. I would do anything to protect them.I am forever loyal to my people. I put them before myself.I am loyal to my responsibilities.I'm loyal as long as you're loyal to me in return.I'm loyal, but not to the extent that I would die to save someone else.
Someone approaches you with a basket of minerals, asking you to choose one. Go on, choose!
Amazonite; it fosters harmony and peacemaking.Smoky Quartz; it can protect one from negativity and darkness.Crazy Lace Agate; a mineral representing insight and awareness.Bismuth; it helps access a higher, almost extraterrestrial way of thinking.Bloodstone; it helps promote a strong body and aids in survival.Citrine; it symbolizes prosperity and wealth.
Let's say you've been cursed and your days are numbered. What do you do?
I set out to search for a cure, of course.I find whatever or whoever cursed me and get revenge.I'll make the best out of the time I have left; I could waste time searching for a cure I may never find.I continue living as I always have.I'm going to find a way to save myself AND I'm going to kill the thing that did this to me. Or die (sooner) trying. My focus will be finding a way to remedy the curse; I will do whatever it takes to rid myself of its mark, so you better not stand in my way.
You're starving and you see someone selling rice porridge. What do you offer them in return?
Jigo mentioned that entering the heart of the forest meant certain death for humans. Ashitaka obviously survived, but would you?
I believe so, I would respect the spirits and gods of the forests just as Ashitaka did.Certainly. The forest spirits and gods would accept me as one of their own.The heart of the forest would be the perfect place to call my home.Anyone could, if your intentions are pure, there's nothing to fear.I could survive anything, especially the forest. As a matter of fact, I would thrive.Of course. Should the spirits and gods attack me, I will destroy them.
Quick! Choose a quote!
"To see with eyes unclouded by hate.""Ugh, I smell like a human.""I was hoping you'd cry out in your sleep. Then I would have bitten your head off to silence you.""He is life itself.""We grow small, and we grow stupid.""I'm going to show you how to kill a god. A god of life and death. The trick is not to fear him."
